Financial literacy is beneficial for everyone regardless of age. High school sophomore Zoe McCall lives in Maryland, a state that does not require personal finance coursework to graduate high school. She believes that becoming educated on finances is crucial for success and is pushing the importance of financial education to the County Board of Education in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Thanks to this student and her peers’ hard work, the board passed a resolution requiring a personal finance course for all high school students in the county. It is never too early to become aware of financial topics and learn how to become financially stable.
